Living History bis 1600
Thanks to an ambitous event crew and lovely guests from all corners of Draachenwald we could enjoy a wonderful event at our humble Shire of Ad Flumen Caerulum. The pittoresque site of the castle of Albrechtsberg was once more the stage for al lovely community. Arts and Science, Bows and Arrows, court and itchen and of course much heavy fighting scenarios made it an unforgettable meeting of friends of our great Society of Anachronism. It is summer, this means not many opportunities left to get in shape for our next events: Red&Gold in our beloved Shire od Meadowmarsh and – last not least- Parasol War IV.

Parasol War IV (28th of April – 1st of May 2017) is over. We proudly announce, that the fierce party of Drachenwald´s most noble warriors managed to solve the quest for the lost sunshade and made it back alive to their realms. Regardless of evil villains, ambushers and cursed defenders everybody made it home savely.
But not only the fighters had a lot do – there was also a largesse competition for which various beautiful items were contributed. The largesse items are currently on their way to Double Wars where they will be handed over to the crown. The archers had the opportunity to wield theirs bows, and in the evening the great hall was filled with candlelight and music for the dancers.
We would like to thank all our guests- some of them had a really long way to visit the beautiful Castle of Albrechtsberg in Lower Austria. May they tell the known world about Austrian hospitality and the most impressive work of our cooks. Their incredible work made Parasol War once again unique event.

We are happy to announce the Central Region´s first Equestrian Acticvity since it´s founding. Three cheers for the new equestrian marshals Lady Cornelia vom Diestelfeld and Lady Alienor de Salignac. Many thanks belong to the Kingdom Deputy for Equestrian Affairs Lord Thomas Flamanc of Kelsale for his visit at Parasol War III and his auhorizations.

The story of Parasol War is a history of misunderstandings. Two years ago (rumor has it, that there were some fawning courtiers and corrupt advisors) the peaceful barony of Knight´s Crossing made war against their small neighbour, the Shire of Ad Flumen Caerulum. The cause was a sunshade, built by the finest artisans of Frankmarkt. After exhausting fights, the army of Knight´s Crossing achieved a victory. But an evil villain took the sunshade by night and hid it well in a castle far away. So an united party of Knight´s Crossing and Ad Flumen Caerulum went on a quest for recapturing the sunshade at Parasol War II.
Scenery of Parasol War II was the lovely castle of Albrechtsberg in Lower Austria, near the river Danube and not far away from the monastery of Melk, one of Europe´s most famous baroque buildings. Ad Flumen Caerulum had the honour to host Their Royal Majesties at this galant quest.
Two mixed parties fought for the Parasol (“Sunshade”): the victor of the first tourney, Lord Ian Oliver, chose the side of the attackers, while Lord Flose Thordson led the defending party at the gates of Albrechtsberg. Archers and fencers, marshalled by Baron Konrad of Lewenstein, took also part in this battle.
The decision over victory and defeat was a close thing, but the Sunshade was defended successfully and therefore remains in Albrechtsberg until the next attempt at Parasol War III (Spring 2016, tbd).
SCA wars do not know any losers. We don´t fight against each other, we are playing together, regardless for which side. Mixed groups and various scenarios, for example the so called “Run for the Sunshade Parts” are not designed for competition, but for fun.
An ambitious kitchen team, an impressive site with an unbeatable hospitabel castle owner and thanks to our fine and enthusiastic guests made this event unforgettable.
Besides that, the Shire congratulates following gmembers for their awards, given by Their Royal Majesties Thorvaldr and Tomoe: Sister Ute of Xanten and Alienor de Salignac for the Award of Arms and Lord Flose Thordson for the Order of the Silver Guard. Vivant!
Dies St. Mauritii stiften Frieden
Mit einem versöhnlichen Ende beschlossen die Baronie von Knights Crossing und das Shire Ad Flumen Caerulum den Parasol War. In einem beherzten Kampf siegten unter dne Augen von Königin Morrigan und König Lief die Ritter von Knights Crossing unter der Führung von Baron Konrad von Lewenstein gegen das eilig zusammengezogen Heer von Lord Flose Thordsson.
Doch wurde die Freude getrübt, denn die Wurzel allen Übels, der umstrittene Sunshade, verschwand noch während des Versöhnungsfestes.
In vier nerven- und kräftezehrenden Wettbewerben wurde gestritten. 22 Kämpferinnen und Kämpfer nennt die Turnierrolle. Während im Banana(Rose)Turney sich die klar überlegene Qualität der Partei von Baron Konrad erwies, erlangte die noch junge Truppe von Ad Flumen Caerulum dank harter Disziplin und geschickter Finger der Arts&Science-Knüpferinnen den Sieg im Brückenkampf. Der bewaffnete Wettlauf um die Sunshade-Teile und die abschließende Feldschlacht gingen klar an Knights Crossing. Den glorreichen Sieg der Kämpfer ergänzte Baron Konrad durch durch den Gewinn des Clout Bogenschießens. Äußerst knapp war die Entscheidung beim Vergleich der Handwerkskunst mit den zuvor erkämpften Bananen. Der Bananenhelm bzw- -krone aus Ad Flumen Caerulum ergab schließlich den Ausschlag.
In den Pausen der Wettbewerbe forderte Yussuf ibn Yussuf, Queen´s Champion und Marshall in Charge die anwesenden Kämpfer zum Duell um die Ehre der Königin und um einen Obolus für die königliche Reisekasse.
Beim abendlichen Feast bescherte die Küche einen allgemeinen Sieg und verwöhnte die erlesene Gästeschar mit einer Speisenfolge, von der noch lange geschwärmt wird. Umschmeichelt von lieblichen Klängen von Dudelsack und Drehleier servierte die Küchencrew Grüne Suppe, Grüne Eier, Griechische Hühner, Schweinsbraten mit sauren Rüben, Spinat mit Mandeln, Apfel-Zwiebel-Gemüse und Dinkel mit Kräutern und Spinatstrudel. Veilchenpuddig, Nusspudding, Birnenpudding und für die Nimmersatten eine Käseplatte entzückten das Königspaar und Gefolge gleichermaßen.
Zur Nachspeise erschütterte dann noch ein Zwischenfall die fröhliche Gemeinschaft: insgeheim verschwand der Sunshade, um dessen Besitz gestritten wurde. Ein Unbekannter hinterließ eine kryptische Botschaft, in der der Friedenswillen der Beteiligten offen angezweifelt wurde. Der Unterzeichnende verkündete weiters, dass der Sunshade verschwunden bleiben solle, so lange es nicht untrügliche Beweise für die Freundschaft der beiden Länder gäbe. Wie diese Beweise auszusehen hätte, blieb offen. Spekulationen um die Absicht und Herkunft des Räubers zogen sich bis in die frühen Morgenstunden.

Dies St. Mauritii – Mittelalterliches Lagerleben nur für Gewandete / Medieval encampment for people in garb
Wie schon im Vorjahr lädt das Shire Ad Flumen Caerulum zum Lagerleben im Attergau. Die diesjährigen Dies St. Mauritii finden vom 27. – 29. September 2013 statt.
Wir bieten wieder das riesiges Gelände für das Lager, Brennholz, Bauholz, Toiletten, Duschen, Kühlmöglichkeiten, Biergarnituren (für Leute, die keine Lagermöbel haben), Indoor-Schlafplätze (Feldbetten) für Leute, die kein Lager haben, 100m² Freihalle mit offenem Kamin und Aussicht auf das Lager, reichlich Platz für Handarbeiten aller Art uvm.

Getränke gibt es in der Taverne, Alkoholgenuß ist möglich, aber das Event findet in einem Pfadfinderlager mit anderen Gästen (Kinder und Jugendlichen statt).

Dies St. Mauritii – encampment at the border
September 21-23 – Ad Flumen Caerulum – Austria
The Shire of Ad Flumen Caerulum invites you all to take part in fighting, archery, and games. For the fighters there will be the “Gugelhupf-Tourney”, for the archers an IKAC-shooting is planned. There will also be games at the tavern hall and an indoor space for children to play. As we will have some classrooms too, we search for people who are willing to teach a class. After three years of holding the encampment in Herrnleis we are on the move. Our destination is the Attergau in Upper Austria close to the border to Bavaria. For people from Vienna this means one and a half hours more on the road than before, but for everyone else – and particularly for our guests from Germany – the location is far easier to reach (just a one hour drive from Munich).
Why the move? Better infrastructure!
